Both beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders will enjoy the ski area Val Gardena Gröden through its diversity and perfect slopes. Every year, the world’s elite meets shortly before Christmas on the legendary World Cup Saslong slope in S. Cristina. The ski area Val Gardena is also a good starting point for the Sella Ronda. This 40-km-long panoramic tour around the Sella Group connects the valleys Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba and Fassa. On the whole, the ski area Val Gardena offers 175 km of slopes and belongs to the Dolomiti Superski association. The Dolomiti Superski Pass offers pure skiing fun in 12 ski areas in the Dolomites with around 1,200 km of prepared slopes.
Val Gardena is also a cross-country skiing paradise with 115 km of well-prepared cross-country trails in all levels of difficulty in the midst of a mountain backdrop. With Dolomiti Nordicski, Europe’s biggest cross-country carousel with 1,300 km of tracks in 13 regions in the Dolomites, you can enjoy border-crossing XCS.
Alternatively you can also discover the snow-covered mountain landscape of the Dolomites doing snowshoe hikes and ski touring. Young and old can thus be close to nature and enjoy our alpine landscape. Family fun is also guaranteed if you go tobogganing. Both in Val Gardena and on the near Alpe di Siusi there are well-prepared tobogganing tracks for perfect sledge rides.

Skiing holidays in Val Gardena

The ski resort Val Gardena is opened from the beginning of December to mid-April. Enthusiastic skiers can enjoy 1,200 km of slopes in the Dolomiti Superski area and on the Sellaronda. The slopes range from beginners’ to advanced level and are connected via modern ski lift facilities. They include the neighboring valleys Val Badia, Val di Fassa and Alpe di Siusi.

Cross-country skiing in Val Gardena

The Monte Pana Cross-country Ski Center, the Vallunga in Selva and Alpe di Siusi offer 130 km of well-prepared trails in all degrees of difficulty to passionate cross-country skiers. Skaters as well as classic cross-country skiers find everything the heart desires in the sun-kissed mountain landscape. You can combine challenging ascents and thrilling descents, as well as short runs for beginners, depending on your physical condition and abilities. Europe’s biggest cross-country carousel, Dolomiti NordicSki (DNS), allows you with a pass to discover 1,300 xc-ski trails in the midst of the amazing Dolomites.

Tobogganing in Val Gardena

The toboggan run Resciesa, which descends from the summit station down the valley to Ortisei, offers all toboggan lovers a 6-km well-prepared toboggan track. Tobogganing fun, even at night, is also possible on the close-by Alpe di Siusi. In both resorts, the ascent can be made on foot as well as via cable car. Tobogganing at night in Val Gradena/Alpe di Siusi can also be combined with a bus transfer service and/or snow groomer.
